6WD, 6x6 or 6 wheel drive is a drive wheel system for vehicles with 3 axles (e.g. a desert exploring device). This system may be introduced on and/or may become popular on semi-trucks in the future although they have not yet been implemented. This would likely be revolutionary, since it may improve roadway traction.
Desert cruisers with six wheels do not steer like conventional steering mechanisms in standard automobiles. They tend to steer according to the speed differences of each side of the axles.
6WDs in pop culture
The 1993 film Super Mario Bros. featured a 6WD desert cruiser when Iggy and Spike were pursuing Mario and Luigi, when they were roaming around the desert.
