Chevrolet Venture

The Chevrolet Venture is a minivan from General Motors. It replaced the Chevrolet Lumina APV in the Chevrolet range in 1997 and was sold in Europe as the Vauxhall/Opel Sintra. Opel assisted in the development of the van as well. For 2005, the replacement model will be renamed Chevrolet Uplander.

1997

The 1997 Venture, also sold as the Oldsmobile Silhouette and Pontiac Montana, used a 180 hp 3.3 L V6. A larger 3.4 L 185 hp engine was used from 1999. A Warner Brothers edition introduced in 2000 featured a DVD entertainment system, a novelty at the time. The exterior was refreshed in 2001, and all wheel drive introduced in 2002. The vehicle was replaced after 2004 by the new Chevrolet Uplander.
