Chiller

A Chiller is a machine used to produced chilled water used primarily in commercial and industrial facilities to cool and dehumidify air (see air conditioning). A typical Chiller is rated between 15 to 1000 tons of cooling (180,000-12,000,000 BTU/hour or 53-3,500 kW) or more in cooling capacity. A chiller can be mechanically driven (centrifugal or screw-driven powered by electric motors, or less commonly by steam turbines or natural gas engines) or absorption type which is powered by steam with no moving parts.
