PL is the code name for the 1994-present automobile platform for the Dodge Neon subcompact car. It is a front wheel drive platform with no provision for all wheel drive. Contrary to early reports, PL was not the basis for the Chrysler PT Cruiser's PT platform .
PL is scheduled to be replaced in 2006 with a new platform based on the Mitsubishi Lancer. These plans continue despite Mitsubishi's financial troubles. The vehicle will be built at Chrysler's Belvidere, Illinois plant.
