Advisor to Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft (Untertürkheim, Germany), he had important influence on the production of new motor vehicles. He proposed the name Mercedes as the brand name of the Daimler cars, after the name of his daughter Mercedes Jellinek (born 1889, died 1928).
