Michael Clarke, real name Michael James Dick, was the drummer for the American rock music group The Byrds from about 1964 to about 1968. In the 1970s, he was a member of the Flying Burrito Brothers and Firefall. He died in 1993, at age 47, from liver failure due to more than three decades of heavy alcohol consumption.
