Miner's lettuce, also called Indian lettuce, is an annual plant native to the western mountain and coastal regions of North America, which can be eaten as a leaf vegetable.
In the California coastal mountains it is common in the spring, and can be found in shaded areas, especially in the uplands, into the early summer.
