Mosfellsær is small city in Southwestern Iceland. Halldor Laxness,a famous author, spent part of his childhood growing up in Mosfellsbæaer.

It has a total area of 197 sq.km. and a population as of 2004 of 6,589. It is part of the capitol region.
Activties and Clubs
- The Golfklubburinn Kjolu golf course is located outside the city.
- The Kjalarnesþing Lions Club started meeting here in 1965 when it was later changed in 1989 to the Mosfellsbaer Lions Club .
