Nippon Yusen was one of the first great Japanese companies. In 1874 Nippon Yusen signed a contract with the Japanese government to create the first Japanese postal service. They would later exspand to many other industries incluiding transportation and mining. Today, Nippon Yusen is known as Mitsubishi.
