Opel Tigra

The Opel Tigra is a small coupé from Opel of Germany based on its Corsa. Designed with a 1,4 or 1,6 l engine, maximum of 106 horse power.

Added to the mass-market underpinnings were suspension tweaked by Lotus and smart, contemporary styling with an unusual, unique rear window. It was not nearly as dynamic as its main rival, the Ford Puma, but was considered "cute" in its day.

It was sold in the UK as the Vauxhall Tigra and in Brazil as the Chevrolet Tigra.

After an absence of a few years, Opel resurrected the Tigra name in 2004 for a new sports car based on the Corsa. The Tigra Twin Top has a folding hardtop, in the fashion of the Peugeot 206 CC. It is produced by Heuliez.

In August 2005, the Tigra will be sold in Australia as the Holden Tigra
