Pegasus (satellite)

Pegasus was a series of three satellites, which were started 1965 for the study of the frequency by micrometeorites. All three Pegasus satellites became with rockets of the type "Saturn 1" started and remained connected with the upper stage of the rocket.

  • Pegasus 1 was started on 16 February 1965 and brought into an orbit with an inclination by 31,7 degrees. The perigee amounted to at the beginning of 510 km, the apogee 726 km, the weight amounted to 10.500 tons.
  • Pegasus 2 was started on 25 May 1965 and brought into an orbit with an inclination by 31,7 degrees. The perigee amounted to at the beginning of 502 km, the apogee 740 km, the weight amounted to 10.464 tons.
  • Pegasus 3 was started on 30 July 1965 and brought into an orbit with an inclination by 28,9 degrees. The perigee amounted to at the beginning of 441 km, the apogee 449 km, the weight amounted to 10.500 tons.
