Pessac-Léognan

Pessac-Léognan is one of the most important of the French wine appellations, and consists of many of the finest of the vineyards of the Bordeaux region.

The appellation was created in 1987 as a sub-region of the Graves wine-making district south of the city of Bordeaux to represent the finest of the area's producers, and is centred around the villages of Pessac, Talence and Léognan. It contains all of the Grands Crus Classés listed in the classifications of 1953 and 1959 that produce some of France's finest wines, both red and white.
