Rick Moranis

Rick Moranis (born April 18, 1954) is a comedian and actor.

He was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and first achieved fame as a cast member of the Canadian syndicated comedy show SCTV, where he portrayed, among other characters, "Bob" of Bob & Doug McKenzie fame.

In June of 2004, a rumor began heavily circulating on the Internet that Moranis had been killed in an incident involving a train. This proved to be false; apparently a private (if not cruel) joke posted on a private web address spiraled out of control and was taken as fact. The rumour has continued to surface and is currently (April 2005) experiencing a mild resurgence.

As of 2004, Moranis was on the Advisory Committee for the Comedy program at Humber College, the only such diploma program in the world.
