The Saab 9-7X is a Saab-branded automobile based on the General Motors' GMT360 SUV family, which also includes the Chevrolet Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, Buick Rainier and the Isuzu Ascender. It is built on the same U.S. production line (Moraine, Ohio) using most of the same parts as its sister vehicles. The 9-7X goes on sale in the 1st quarter of 2005.
All 9-7X SUVs feature all wheel drive, leather seats, 18 in (45 cm) alloy wheels, and side-curtain airbags. Entertainment and convenience features include OnStar, XM satellite radio , a 6-CD Bose audio system, and either a moonroof or rear-seat DVD entertainment system. Like other Saab models, there will be two named variants:
- Linear - The base model features the 275 hp (205 kW) Atlas LL8 straight-6 engine with 12-spoke wheels and costs US$38,270.
- Arc - The top model uses the 300 hp (224 kW) Vortec LH6 V8 engine with six-spoke wheels and adds Xenon headlamps with high-pressure washers and adjustable pedals. The Arc costs US$40,270.
