Selenide

A selenide is a chemical compound in which selenium serves as a cation with oxidation number of -2, much as Sulfur does in a sulfide. In fact, the chemistry of the selenides parallels that of the sulfides. Examples include ZnSe (Zinc Selenide), CdSe (Cadmium Selenide) and H2Se (Hydrogen Selenide).
