Sterling Trucks

Sterling Trucks is a manufacturer of trucks owned by DaimlerChrysler. Sterling was a 1998 spinoff from Freightliner and is headquartered near Cleveland, Ohio. Sterling was originally Ford's heavy truck division that was later pruchased by Daimler Chrysler under the Freightliner brand. Sterling-brand trucks are sold in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Australia, and New Zealand.

The company specializes in vocational trucks - those that are designed to perform jobs other than straight freight hauling. Examples include garbage trucks, dump trucks, concrete mixers, tanker trucks , and snowplows. All Sterling trucks are built in St. Thomas, Ontario.
