The Toyota GR engine family is a V6 piston engine series. The GR series has a 60° cast iron engine block and aluminum DOHC cylinder heads. It uses MFI fuel injection, has 4 valves per cylinder with bucket tappets and features a forged steel connecting rods, a one-piece cast camshaft, and a cast aluminum intake manifold.
1GR-FE
The 1GR-FE is a 4.0 L (3955 cc) version built in Tahara, Japan. Bore is 94 mm and stroke is 95 mm. Output is 245 hp (183 kW) at 5200 rpm with 282 ft.lbf (382 Nm) of torque at 3800 rpm.
Applications:
2GR-FE
The 2GR-FE is a 3.5 L (3456 cc) version. Bore remains at 94 mm but stroke is reduced to 83 mm. Output is 280 hp (209 kW) at 6200 rpm with 260 ft.lbf (353 Nm) of torque at 4700 rpm. This version features Toyota's first application of "dual-VVT-i", variable valve timing on both the intake and exhaust cams.
Applications:
3GR-FE
The 3GR-FE is a 3.0 L (2994 cc) version. Bore is 87.5 mm while stroke is shared with the 2GR at 83 mm.
