A trakehner (jump) is a jump found on the cross country course of eventing, and it consists of a rail over a ditch. The ditch can be frightening for the horse, and so this type of jump is a test of bravery. Trakehners are not found at the lower levels of eventing, but at the higher levels they can be quite big, and quite frightening.
