Troms

Troms is a county in Norway, bordering Finnmark and Nordland. Troms includes a lot of islands, like Senja, Kvaløy, Ringvassøy and Arnøy. It also includes parts of the island Hinnøya. It has a very rugged and indented coastline facing the Norwegian Sea. Of the coastline's many fjords, the largest is Lyngenfjorden.

The district is mainly mountainous; much of its interior supports livestock raising as only means of agriculture. Along the coast and on the islands, fishing is dominant. The city of Tromsø, in the north central part, is the county seat and an Arctic seaport. Because many of the roads are poorly maintained, much communication is done by boat and air services.

The Norwegian armed forces is a vital employer in Troms, having the seat of their 6th army division as well as several large air force bases, helicopter wings and radar stations in the county.
