Volvo 140

The Volvo 140 is an automobile from Volvo. It consists of the models Volvo 142 (two doors), Volvo 144 (four doors) and Volvo 145 (estate wagon). It was first introduced in 1967. Production ended in 1974. Around the same time, the Volvo 164 was produced, which shared much of the 140 series styling, but incorporated a 6-cylinder engine.

Starting with the 140 series, Volvo used a three number system for their cars. The first number was the series, the second number the number of cylinders and the third number the number of doors.
